Managing Customers
Keep your customer database organized and up-to-date. Learn how to add new customers, update their information, and maintain accurate records.
Adding a New Customer
There are several ways to add customers:
From the Customers Page
- Navigate to Customers
- Click + Add Customer
- Fill in the customer details
- Click Save

During Work Order Creation
When creating a work order, you can add a new customer inline if they don't exist. See Creating Work Orders.
Customer Information Fields
Required Fields
- First Name - Customer's first name
- Last Name - Customer's last name
- Phone Number - Primary contact number
Optional Fields
- Email - For invoices and communications
- Secondary Phone - Alternative contact number
- Address - Street, city, state, zip
- Company Name - If applicable
- Notes - Any special information about the customer
Editing Customer Information
To update a customer's information:
- Find the customer in the list or search
- Click on their name to open their profile
- Click Edit
- Update the relevant fields
- Click Save Changes

Customer Notes
Use the notes field to record important information about customers:
- Preferred communication method
- Best times to reach them
- Payment preferences
- Any special considerations
Tip: Keep Notes Professional
Customer notes may be visible to multiple team members. Keep them factual and professional. Focus on information that helps provide better service.
Merging Duplicate Customers
If you accidentally create duplicate customer records, you can merge them:
- Open one of the duplicate customer profiles
- Click Actions → Merge Customer
- Search for and select the other duplicate record
- Choose which information to keep from each record
- Confirm the merge
Caution: Merge Cannot Be Undone
Customer merges are permanent. All work orders and watercraft from both records will be combined under the surviving customer. Review carefully before confirming.
Deleting Customers
Customers with work order history cannot be deleted to maintain data integrity. For customers with no history:
- Open the customer profile
- Click Actions → Delete Customer
- Confirm deletion
If you need to remove a customer from active use but preserve their history, consider adding a note indicating they are no longer active.
