Work orders are the heart of ShopTrack. They track every job from initial contact through completion and payment, providing a complete record of services performed for your customers.

What is a Work Order?

A work order in ShopTrack is a complete record of a service job. It includes:

  • Customer Information - Who the work is being done for
  • Watercraft/Asset Details - What vessel or equipment is being serviced
  • Work Description - What services are being performed
  • Labor Records - Time spent by technicians
  • Parts & Materials - Items used during the service
  • Media Attachments - Photos, videos, and documents
  • Notes - Internal and customer-facing communications
  • Financial Summary - Costs, pricing, and totals

Work Order Lifecycle

Work orders progress through several statuses as they move from creation to completion:

Work Order Types

Work orders can be categorized by type to help with organization and reporting:

  • Repair - Fixing something that's broken
  • Maintenance - Scheduled preventive maintenance
  • Installation - Installing new equipment
  • Inspection - Survey or diagnostic work
  • Winterization - Seasonal preparation for storage
  • Commissioning - Preparing vessel for the season
  • Custom - Customization or modification work
