Custom Forms
Create custom forms for inspections, checklists, and standardized data collection. Forms ensure consistent information gathering across all your work orders.
What Are Custom Forms?
Custom forms are templates you design for collecting specific information. Common uses include:
- Pre-Service Inspections - Document vessel condition before work begins
- Winterization Checklists - Ensure all winterization steps are completed
- Commissioning Checklists - Verify spring readiness
- Sea Trial Reports - Record test results after repairs
- Damage Surveys - Document insurance claims
- Safety Inspections - Verify safety equipment

Using Forms on Work Orders
To fill out a form on a work order:
- Open the work order
- Click the Forms tab
- Click + Add Form
- Select the form template to use
- Complete the form fields
- Click Save

Forms can include various field types:
Text Fields
Short text, long text, numbers
Checkboxes
Yes/No, Pass/Fail, multiple selection
Dropdowns
Select from predefined options
Date/Time
Date pickers, time fields
Signatures
Capture signatures on mobile devices

Group related fields together
Creating Form Templates
Administrators can create form templates in Settings → Custom Forms.

To create a form template:
- Navigate to Settings → Custom Forms
- Click + Create Form
- Enter a form name and description
- Add fields by dragging from the field palette
- Configure field properties (required, default values, options)
- Arrange fields in the desired order
- Click Save Form

Viewing Completed Forms
Completed forms appear in the Forms tab of the work order:

Click any form to view or edit its details.
Printing Forms
Forms can be printed or exported to PDF:
- Open the completed form
- Click Print or Export PDF
Printed forms include your company branding and all completed field data.
Best Practice: Standardize Inspections
Create a pre-service inspection form that technicians complete at the start of every job. This documents the vessel's condition upon arrival and protects against claims of damage.
